The Application deadline is Friday, April 4, 2025 by 11:59 PM (EST).  This is a DCSAA pay grade 36 position. Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Responsible for the reconciliation and computerized financial analysis of the District’s employee-related travel, payroll processes, and employee deductions.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Investigates and resolves any discrepancies in payroll records by identifying errors in data entry, time reporting, or deductions.

 

2.            Assists in the development/maintenance of various payroll processes.

 

3.            Works closely with HR and finance departments to reconcile and resolve any discrepancies affecting employee pay.

 

4.            Audits In-County and Out-of-County travel expenses submitted by employees for eligibility, ensuring compliance with district policies and confirming that all reimbursements meet required guidelines.

 

5.            Processes reimbursement claims in a timely and accurate manner.

 

6.            Responds promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails from employees, offering clear guidance on payroll matters, reimbursement statuses, and any issues that may arise.

 

7.            Review detailed travel reports to ensure that all outstanding travel reimbursements have been accurately processed and recorded.

 

8.            Ensures that all employee-related travel complies with the Florida Statutes, School Board policies, and other governing guidelines to ensure proper eligibility for reimbursement.

 

9.           Provides guidance to employees on allowable travel expenses, policy updates, and the correct procedure for submitting travel-related claims.

 

10.         Assists employees with booking flights, hotels, car rentals, and other travel-related services using SAP Concur.

 

11.         Provides ongoing support to employees with any questions related to SAP Concur, such as troubleshooting issues, navigating the system, or understanding company policies on travel and expenses.

 

12.         Offers guidance and training to employees on how to properly submit travel expenses through SAP Concur.

 

11.         Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

                                                                                                OR

                Associate's Degree or combination of education, training, and experience in accounting/finance substantially equivalent to an Associate’s Degree and

 

2.            Six (6) years of experience in accounting systems.

 

3.            Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
