Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Develops, supervises and coordinates the District-wide implementation of the Miami-Dade County Public School's (M-DCPS) Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Assists in developing and implementing all Board Rules and policies related to the Employee Assistance Program.

 

2.            Works directly with District, school-site and region staff, committees, and individuals in explaining, interpreting and implementing the EAP Program.  Provides assistance to employees 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year.

 

3.            Facilitates staff development, training programs, develops training material and trains administrators, instructional and non-instructional personnel in the areas of Workplace Violence, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Stress Management, Anger Management and Debriefings.

 

4.            Responds to referrals by conducting conferences and follow-up actions as required.  At times, conferences may be conducted outside of the employee work site.

 

5.            Coaches and mentors administrators on intervention methods to handle potentially violent and dangerous situations with our employees.

 

6.            Develops plans for program evaluation.

 

7.            Keeps confidential records and prepares reports as assigned.

 

8.            Coordinates the adherence to policies for employees in the Education Practice Commission/Recovery Network and conducts Educators in Recovery Support Groups.

 

9.            Thoroughly reviews risk management programs and fringe benefits coverage and proposals.

 

10.         Develops, surveys and monitors an extensive inventory of community resources and serves as employer representative to referral agencies.

 

11.         Monitors and analyzes employee attendance and absenteeism in relationship to the services of the EAP Program.

 

12.         Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.

 

2.            Minimum of three (3) years experience in the area of personnel counseling as related to job performance, addiction treatment and outpatient services.

 

3.            Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in a related field.

 

4.            Certified Employee Assistance Professional, preferred.

 

5.            Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
