The Application deadline is Thursday, February 27, 2025 by 11:59 PM (EST).  This is a DCSAA pay grade 47 position. For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Directs the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of District, state, and national assessment/testing programs. Assists District, region, and school-site administrators in the interpretation and use of test results.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Directs the personnel, functions, and activities of the Test Distribution Center.  This function includes overseeing the acquisition and maintenance of testing materials, and coordination of distribution of materials and reports.

 

2.            Directs the design, planning, and implementation of all District, state, and national standardized testing in the District and supervises the analyses, interpretation, and reporting of test results.

 

3.            Supports the District's efforts relative to the implementation of Florida's System of School Improvement and Accountability (Rule 6A-1.09981) by assisting in the identification of "critically low performing" schools and interpreting analyses and reports relative to the state indicators and criteria to identify areas in need of improvement.

 

4.            Provides verbal and written information concerning all assessment/testing programs to administrative and instructional personnel, parents, civic and professional groups, and community agencies. Prepares the Superintendent's report to The School Board on the status of student achievement, and prepares summary materials for members of the board, as requested.

 

5.            Serves as a liaison between the District, region offices, and schools relative to District, state, and national assessment programs. In addition, serves as a liaison between the District and the Florida Department of Education, national testing agencies, and external contractors on all issues related to the implementation of state and national testing programs.  Represents the District on various state committees that review and establish policy and programs related to assessment and accountability.

 

6.            Directs the planning, development and implementation of customized testing related presentations and/or workshops for central, region, and school-site administrators, teachers, and parent/community groups.

 

7.            Directs the development and implementation of District policies and practice for test preparation, test administration, and test security standards.

 

8.            Represents the District on various state and local committees to examine and establish statewide and local policy and programs related to the assessment of student achievement, testing of special populations such as LEP students, and educational accountability.

 

9.            Determines the extent to which the District would benefit from participation in various national and state assessments, standardization, and field test studies, and directs all such selected projects and studies.

 

10.         Supports the District's efforts toward school improvement and educational accountability by assisting in the design and implementation of school-based assessment activities, participating in the end-of-year adequate progress review process, evaluating school's results to determine outcomes, and providing direction and guidance relative to schools' objectives for subsequent years.

 

11.         Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Master's degree in research, measurement, or a closely related field.

 

2.            Minimum of three (3) years experience in educational evaluation and testing.

 

3.            Experience with large scale assessment programs and experience in, or knowledge of a large school system is desired.

 

4.            Evidence of ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

 

5.            Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
