The Application deadline is Wednesday, May 7, 2025  by 11:59 PM (EST).  This is a DCSAA pay grade 43 position. Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) acquisitions for new schools, renovations and additions in order to ensure the accurate, cost effective, timely acquisition of items.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Supervises the acquisition for FF&E for new schools’ additions and renovations; maintains reports to ensure timely delivery of equipment.

 

2.            Assists in the completion of market analysis on project items for FF&E.

 

3.            Works with several departments, including Capital Construction, Facilities and Budget to ensure correct project funding.

 

4.            Assists in the coordination of delivery and installation of FF&E for projects and ensures that items comply with required specifications.

 

5.            Performs post occupancy inspection for assigned projects, resolves discrepancies, and prepares final reports to respective departments, including Capital Construction, Procurement Management and Facilities.

 

6.            Represents the Department in meetings and/or orientations, when requested.

 

7.            Assists Procurement Management staff in the completion of bids/solicitations for various related commodities, such as maintenance, furniture/fixtures and equipment.

 

8.            Provides bid documents to Procurement management staff to ensure correct completion of requisition/shopping carts in SAP.

 

9.            Completes and retains project booklet for each completed FF&E project, which may be subject to audit.

 

10.         Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and five (5) years experience in all facets of supply business operations and purchasing practices in a governmental, industrial, or institutional environment.

 

2.            Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

 

3.            Knowledge of personal computer applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and graphics.

 

4.            Evidence of knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
