Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

Salary Min:   $70,263.00

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

Assist Director to provide technical and analytical assistance in the solution of Miami-Dade County Schools' (M-DCPS) technology needs.  Assist in supervising the activities pertaining to development, administration, and review of term bid and negotiated contracts. Assists with the development of procedures that expedite the process of District-Wide technology purchases. Assists with the procurement of instructional and non-instructional technology.  Communicate effectively with all work locations in the District, outside vendors, and the general public.

 

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Serves as liaison with buyers in the central procurement department, schools, Region Offices and finance to meet mutual objectives of a highly efficient technology negotiations and procurement process.

 

2.            Reviews purchase orders and invoices being processed for payment to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

 

3.            Coordinates with Procurement Management Services, Risk Management, and Board Attorney’s Office in the review and approval of technology agreements and contracts. 

 

4.            Supervises the implementation of appropriate training activities to increase productivity, keep personnel up-to-date with technology and best practices, and enhance the department’s morale.

 

5.            Supervises and evaluates subordinate staff and assumes the responsibilities of the Director when necessary.

 

6.            Assists in the evaluation and modification of procedures to improve the efficiency, economy, and quality of procuring technology including energy cost savings incentives.

 

7.            Assists in writing and reviewing technology bids and quote requests for distribution.

 

8.            Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Computer Science, or related field.  Equivalent training and professional experience with specialization in Business Management Information Systems may substitute for degree.

 

2.            Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a supervisor or equivalent.

 

3.            Detailed knowledge of automated budgeting, accounting principles and procedures and proven ability to develop and negotiate contracts and bids.

 

4.            Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
