If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY (Evaluation and Research)
Directs the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of district, state, national, and international assessment/testing programs. Assists district, regional centers, and school-site administrators in the interpretation and use of test results.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Directs the design, planning, and implementation of program evaluation and research activities in the Office of Assessment, Research, and Data Analysis (ARDA) to include the development of research priorities, policies, and procedures.
2. Directs and supervises the preparation, organization and dissemination of evaluative data requested by agencies external to the District.
3. Directs the creation and implementation of systems to provide the district, regions, and schools with data/information relative to the district's strategic goals, objectives, and strategies, including district initiatives for the establishment, data collection, analysis, and reporting of metrics, scorecards, and dashboards.
4. Directs all aspects of the implementation of program evaluation and research studies, including planning, data collection, data analysis, and preparation/dissemination of reports.
5. Directs and supervises the development of data collection instruments, collection/analysis of data and preparation of evaluation reports.
6. Directs professional and nonprofessional research and data analysis staff, giving particular attention to the maintenance of accuracy, quality, and timeliness in the delivery of services and products.
7. Directs development of reviews and/or approves the research/evaluation designs for various program proposals submitted for external funding.
8. Directs and supervises the activities and appraises the performance of a team of evaluation specialists. Selects and manages the services of "external", contracted evaluators.
9. Provides verbal and written information concerning research programs to administrative and instructional personnel, parents, civic and professional groups and community agencies.
10. Reviews/analyzes new legislation and policies to determine impacts to the office/district.
11. Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Master's degree with specialization in education research, statistics or related field.
2. Five (5) years experience in evaluating, supervising, or administering education programs.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
