The application deadline is Tuesday, October 29, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. (EST). This is an DCSAA pay grade 35 position. Two (2) Professional Letters of Recommendation signed or electronic signature and dated within the last 12 months (one year) of the application.  References must be from a person who can assess your ability as an administrator or your work ethic and character. Letters of recommendation must include the name, signature and contact information for the person completing the reference.

 

Administrative Questionnaire: Candidates must complete the Administrative Questionnaire in order to be considered for an interview. The Administrative Questionnaire is embedded in SuccessFactors and the three questions are as follows:

Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position.  Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

Candidates will be invited to complete a written essay prior to the Initial Interview.  Candidates who are successful in the Initial Interview will be invited to a Final Interview. Salary Min:   $41,200.00

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

 

The Social Media Strategist leads global social media marketing efforts. Working to create best-in-class strategies, breakthrough creative content and leveraging both established and emerging platforms, this individual will implement social media activities to help engage new and existing followers. Working to develop robust, integrated social media strategies that build the M-DCPS brand globally, as well as drive engagement, the Social Media Strategist will develop and manage a broad strategy to innovate and set world-class standards for social media marketing.

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

 

1.            Work to find fast, creative and efficient ways to build, execute and measure innovative social media marketing plans that connect with supporters, maximize engagement and create sharing, and advocacy.

 

2.            Lead the development and implementation of a wide range of content forms, including video, text, still imagery, animation, live action and other content forms that best utilize the technology available on any given social media/digital platform.

 

3.            Photography of events to create social media content

 

4.            Provide thought leadership on ways to reach and gain attention of target audiences.

 

5.            Plan and manage campaign executions, on time, on budget, to scope.

 

6.            Formulate and implement best-practices and measurement tools that provide enhanced opportunities to engage audiences.

 

7.            Work to measure the value and impact of our social media.

 

8.            Prepare weekly and monthly reports on growth and user engagement

 

9.            Train internal teams to integrate and maintain a cohesive social media strategy

 

10.         Stay up-to-date with new digital technologies and social media best practices

 

11.         Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.  The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

1.            Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

 

2.            Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in digital or social media.

 

3.            Experience and knowledge in social media channels/platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Snapchat.

 

4.            Knowledge of web usability best practices.

 

5.            Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written forms.
